They have no interest in coexistence.
That is the clearest message sent by the Japan Imams Council when they refused even to accept a letter from a Japanese civic group seeking dialogue on how Islam should exist within Japan’s legal framework.
The same organization had previously issued statements calling for greater understanding and complaining about prejudice. Yet when offered an actual opportunity to discuss coexistence under Japanese law, they chose to reject all communication outright.
If even basic dialogue is refused from the start, it becomes difficult to believe that integration was ever the goal.
