10 BRUTAL LESSONS I LEARNED IN 7 YEARS OF CRYPTO. I’ve been in crypto since 2018. 7 years, a lot of mistakes, and these 10 brutal lessons will save you time, money, and heartache. 🧵👇 Lesson 1. Don’t chase pumps. Every time I jumped into a coin just because it was pumping, I lost. No wonder, Warren Buffett said “Be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful.” That’s the game changer for me. Lesson 2. Not every coin will hit a new ATH. Some coins aren’t built to survive the next cycle. Some were never meant to succeed. In crypto, endurance is rare. Only coins with real value, strong narratives, and resilient communities make it through the noise. Lesson 3. Liquidity is everything. A token can show a huge 10x on the chart, but if you can’t sell it quickly and at a fair price, it’s meaningless. Without liquidity you’re stuck, and your gains are just numbers you may never access. Lesson 4. Security isn’t optional. Protect your funds at all costs. Don’t store everything on exchanges. “Not your keys, not your coins.” Cold wallets and offline keys are essential. Exchanges can crash, and you could lose everything. Lesson 5. Don’t trade every coin or every move you see. Sometimes, doing nothing is the best strategy. Chasing every pump only makes exchanges rich. Patient holders are the ones who build real wealth. Lesson 6. Most people quit too soon. Crypto messes with emotions. People buy at the top, panic at the bottom, and then watch the recovery without them. Patience pays. There’s a saying in crypto.“If you can’t hold, you can’t be rich.” Lesson 7. Never underestimate memes, culture, and hype. I ignored memes and NFTs early because they didn’t make sense to me. Those who embraced them made fortunes. Community sentiment, culture, and hype can move markets more than technology alone. Lesson 8. Big crypto opportunities don’t stick around. By the time everyone is talking about a coin, it’s usually too late. Spot opportunities early, research properly, and hold patiently through the noise. Chasing hype rarely works. Long-term thinking and discipline create real wealth. Lesson 9. Fear is the opportunity. Bear markets are where winners are made. Quiet times are when you build skills and knowledge. The 2021 bull run made everyone feel like a genius. When the bear market hit, most lost everything. Smart traders survived because they learned before they earned. Lesson 10. Don’t risk it all. One bad trade can wipe you out. Never bet everything. Only risk what you can afford to lose. Play the long term game. That’s how real wealth is built. Crypto isn’t about chasing the next pump or getting rich overnight. It’s about being patient, doing your homework, staying disciplined, keeping your funds safe, and understanding how people behave. Master these and you’ll give yourself a real chance to succeed.
