In December 1993, U.S. Army Sgt. Stephen Schap discovered his estranged wife Diane was pregnant by his best friend, Spc. Gregory Glover. Schap sta*bed and decap*tated Glover, then carried the s*vered head in a gym bag to the hospital where his wife was being treated.

He already had a vasectomy. He knew the baby could not be his. He walked out of the hospital and within thirty minutes had figured out who it was.

He found Glover at a payphone on the base, mid-call with Diane. With Diane still on the line, Schap confronted him.

He stabbed Glover fifteen times, then dec*pitated him. He carried out the k*lling in front of witnesses who saw him flee with the head.

He placed the head in a gym bag, returned to the hospital, walked into Diane's room, unzipped the bag, placed the head on her bedside tray table and physically forced her to look at it.

He told her: "Look Diane, Glover's here. He'll sleep with you every night now."

Schap was court-martialled for the m*rder of Gregory Glover in April 1994 and found guilty of premeditated m*rder.

The mandatory life sentence was reduced by the convening authority to 45 years.

Diane Schap testified against her husband at trial, confirming the affair and that Glover was the father of her child.

Stallone le pidió a Dolph Lundgren que dejara de fingir. Casi no lo cuenta.

Era 1985. Rocky IV estaba en producción en Canadá y Stallone, que dirigía además de protagonizar, sentía que la pelea final se veía demasiado controlada. Demasiado coreografiada. Quería que pareciera real. Le dijo a Lundgren, experto en artes marciales y con más de 100 kilos de músculo, que golpeara su cuerpo con verdadera fuerza.

Lundgren obedeció.

Stallone recibió un impacto en el pecho y siguió rodando. Horas después empezó a sentir dificultad para respirar. La presión arterial subió de forma alarmante. Lo trasladaron en avión desde Canadá a un hospital de California, donde ingresó directamente en cuidados intensivos.

El golpe había provocado una inflamación alrededor del corazón. Los médicos lo compararon con el traumatismo que sufre alguien al golpearse el pecho contra el volante en un accidente de coche. Stallone reconoció años después que llegó a pensar que no saldría del hospital.

Lundgren no supo lo que había pasado hasta que un productor le llamó para decirle que tenía varios días libres. Él también había recibido golpes. Había seguido las instrucciones de quien era simultáneamente su compañero, su director y su jefe.

Stallone estuvo entre cuatro y nueve días hospitalizado según distintas versiones. Cuando volvió al rodaje, parte del material de aquellos intercambios reales quedó en la película.

El combate que se ve en Rocky IV no es del todo ficción. La intensidad que transmite tiene, literalmente, un coste médico detrás.
