A BVB College student stabbed a girl to death as she rejected his proposal.

The deceased is Neha Hiremath, daughter of HDMC councillor Niranjan Hiremath.

Neha was an MCA student while the attacker Fayaz is a BCA student at the same college and hails from Savadatti in Belagavi district.

He had allegedly been pestering Neha to enter into a relationship with him, but she constantly rejected his proposals.

Angered by this, Fayaz stabbed Neha twice in the neck on the college campus on Thursday afternoon and fled the scene.

The Vidyanagar police later arrested Fayaz and have registered a case.
