Let me give you four numbers. 101. 24. 93. 100. The first is the points Kompany's Burnley accumulated winning the Championship in 2022/23. The second is the points they collected getting relegated from the Premier League the following season. The third is the goals Bayern scored under him winning the Bundesliga in 2024/25. The fourth is the Bundesliga goals Bayern have already scored in 2025/26, with six games still to play. One manager. Four numbers. One of the most unusual managerial careers in modern football.

101. Burnley won the Championship by ten points, scored 72 goals, and played football so attractive that Tottenham came calling that summer. Kompany turned them down. You know what happened next.
