My heart is aching for the mothers who went through trauma & have kept it quiet for decades, for the young & old women back home who indure rape & abuse from strangers/husbands or family. Specially those in forced marriages. They may not be heard but we need to speak for them.
Everyday is awakening of how despicable this society can be. Silencing young girls instead of teaching your sons to respect women and keep their hands to them. Iam beyond disgusted and disappointed in my own people. Keep bragging about the monsters you raised
I’m in tears reading my tl. I’m so angry and hurt that our own Somali men hurt our own sisters. They NEED to be exposed. Stories NEED to be told. They NEED to be held accountable. Stop using Islam as an excuse. Never silence the victim. I love you, believe & stand with you abaayo
Iam beyond proud of each and every somali girl speaking up and sharing her story. Put a face to these monsters, tag them, tell us his name. We have your back and I pray you find the peace and the time and space to heal from this❤️
Can we stop the stupid “if it was you sister or mom” bullshit? Respect women without comparing them to anyone. let me say that again: RESPECT WOMEN WITHOUT COMPARING THEM TO ANYONE.
My prayers and duaa are with these amazing brave young women sharing their stories. Iam sorry your own people let you down. Iam sorry the men you thought were protecting you voilated you. Iam sorry for the scars you have to carry❤️
