Back in university, my flatmate Tayo had a girlfriend. Whenever she visited, they’d always fight – more like she’d beat him up at the slightest provocation. We had to rescue him from her several times.

One day, their last fight was particularly brutal. She beat Tayo until he was practically unconscious.

Two months later, Tayo started dating her ex’s best friend. The other flatmates decided to talk to Tayo about his behaviour. We scheduled a meeting for the following Sunday but the new girlfriend came visiting that day. She cooked jollof rice and turkey and invited us all to eat.

After dinner, we couldn’t find our voices so we postponed the meeting. This new girlfriend was from a very wealthy family.

My Twitter friends, until I left that school, she would visit every Sunday. She’d cook different dishes and invite all the flatmates to a feast. By the third visit, we’d all forgotten to talk to Tayo.

One day, Tayo’s ex came to meet me to broker peace between them. I sat her down and told her Tayo was too toxic and that they wouldn’t be happy together with his lifestyle. I advised her to forget the relationship and look for another husband. I looked at her straight in the face and told her Tayo did not deserve an angel like her. I then prayed for her that God will provide a strong man for her as a husband.

Aunty left that day and stopped talking to me until we graduated.

I told you guys my nephews and nieces came for Easter holiday 😭
This morning, I gave my 9-year-old nephew something to give my neighbor. Fast forward to this evening, the neighbor came and said she didn’t see anything. I was confused like… what do you mean? I sent it now. I called my nephew and asked him, "Did you give her what I sent you?" This boy said:
"I went there and kept it inside."
I said okay… then why didn't you tell her?? Do you know what he said? "She was sleeping, but the baby saw me"😳
