YOU call yourself an SMM.
But:
• YOU don’t understand audience psychology
• YOU don’t know how to read analytics
• YOU don’t have a niche
• YOU can’t explain results
That’s not freelancing.
That’s experimenting.

I’m going to be completely honest with you all, even if it feels a bit embarrassing to admit.
Before I started this 6-week intensive training to upskill as a Social Media Manager, I really thought I had this "social media thing" figured out. I’ve been online, I’ve seen the trend.
Join me on this journey as I transition from just "posting" to truly managing. 🥂
Question for the experts and beginners: Was there a specific "pro" term or skill you used to get wrong before you started learning? Let’s be honest together in the comments! 👇
SkillUp & Earn is exposing me to the real "engine room" of the social media world, and I am here for it!
This is only Week 1, and my brain is already buzzing. Our next class is this Saturday, and I can already tell it’s going to be fun (and probably another reality check!).
But last night’s class taught me how to actually listen to what an audience wants before I even type a word. It’s not about shouting into the void; it’s about strategic connection.
I’m realizing that everything I thought I knew was just the surface.
Then, last night took it to a whole new level. As a girl who is diving deep into content creation, I’ve always struggled with one thing: How do I actually find my target audience? I used to just create and hope for the best.
For instance, I’m ashamed to say that until my recent class with SkillUp & Earn, I didn't actually know the real difference between Content Writing and Copywriting. I’ve been using these terms interchangeably, but they are worlds apart!
thought I knew the game.
I was wrong.
This first week has been such an eye-opener. It’s one thing to use social media; it’s an entirely different thing to manage it professionally.
Before today, I used to think being a Social Media Manager was just about posting pretty pictures and hitting "share."
I saw it as a simple task of staying active online.
But my first class at the SkillUp & Earn training completely shifted my perspective. 🧵
This month, I chose myself.
I recently joined the SkillUp & Earn training, and for February, I’m committing to learning with intention.
I’ll study daily, attend all live classes, complete every assignment, and share my journey publicly for accountability.
I’m ready to grow.
Last year, I lost focus on my growth.
On January 1st, seeing @IkonoCatherine pushed me to finally commit to Social Media Management again. I joined the SkillUp & Earn training to learn SMM properly and build real confidence.
Excited for what’s ahead.
Still growing. Still learning
