"HE'LL REMEMBER THAT FOR A LIFETIME."
LIU Sophomore Eddie Munyak is playing in his 2nd game this season for the Sharks.
He just scored in a NCAA Tournament game.
🦈 THE SHARKS ARE YOUR 2026 NEC MEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS!!! 🏆
For the first time since 2018 — and the 7th time in program history — @LIUAthletics is hoisting the #NECMBB trophy!
#NEC26 x #NEChoops
What a scene in Brooklyn. The LIU Sharks didn’t have to win due to Mercyhurst’s reclassification … but Rod Strickland’s team wasn’t going to lose an NEC title game on its home floor and overlook this night.
Sharks 79, Lakers 70. LIU is dancing for the first time since 2018.
Rod Strickland took over LIU 4 years ago.
He won 3 games his first season, 7 his second, 17 last season and has now taken the Sharks to the NCAA tourney.
Strickland one of the few, the proud - the former NBA players to have success coaching in college.
There aren't many.
Not much in the world like win or go home college basketball. Would’ve never thought 2 years ago LIU (362/362) would be playing a home NEC tourney game in the Shark Tank. They earned another with the Chicago St. win tonight!
Chicago St. @ LIU - NEC Quarterfinals
