Hot take: Collegiate summer ball seasons and/or their contracts should be 1 month maximum.

These young men are too burned out after grinding Sept-May to continue for another 2 full months.

The majority of collegiate players who start their summer seasons June 1 dont make it past 4th of July. Even in the Cape. And I dont blame em.

They wanna go home. They miss their family and friends. They wanna be kids.

I know many orgs who rely on 2 months of summer to fill their stadiums and hit their revenue numbers. So this would put them out of business. So I dont see them getting behind this. Nor should they.

But I can see us and many others who face this issue moving to 1 month contracts only. 1st half of summer or 2nd half.

Either continue your Spring season through 4th of July then shut down till school.

Or take your 4-6 weeks rest after Spring and ramp back up after 4th of July and go straight into school/Fall.
