Optimism is one of our Maestro's favourite emotions to express through performance. This season we have dedicated a concert to raising your spirits! We open with a work from Kingston's own Marjan Mozetich, followed by Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto and Kalinnikov’s Symphony No. 1.
For Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto we will be joined by Canadian violinist Andrew Wan. Andrew was named concertmaster of the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal in 2008. He has performed worldwide as a soloist and is an active chamber musician. He also teaches at McGill University.
Entry at 4:30 p.m. is $5 and these tickets will be available at the door. Entry on all other dates of the Book Fair is free. Early Entry tickets and the full list of Book Fair dates are available at: https://t.co/FCSVgjnrOb.
Mark your calendars! Our annual Book Fair is now less than one month away and the warehouse is packed with books of different genres! The sale opens on Thursday, September 4, 2025 and runs until Sunday, September 14, 2025.
Early Entry tickets that get you first access to the incredible selection of books are available. A ticket lets you shop from 4 p.m.-4:30 p.m. before the Book Fair officially starts at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 each and only 50 tickets will be sold.
Our featured soloist, Jill Barber, is a celebrated Canadian singer-songwriter. Her music has been featured in shows like Orange Is the New Black, and she’s won multiple awards over her career. Including this year's Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award from @queensualumni.
Preview! In April award-winning Canadian songstress @JillBarber, performs Under Paris Skies at @KingstonGrandTheatre. Jill brings her affinity for French chansons to musical love letters to the City of Lights. Concerts like these are made possible through the support of @playygk.
