I've never been a fan of Sony or the PlayStation brand, but I've always had a begrudging respect for the quality 3rd party titles that appeared on their systems.

This happening right now however, is an outright disgrace and betrayal of the fans. It is a worrying trend for the future and needs to be nipped in the bud, fast.
These big corporations need to be put back in their place.
They need to be told without any uncertainty whatsoever, that they are there to serve and please the consumer, not the other way around.

I think video gamers of all backgrounds and loyalties need to come together to put these greedy corporations to the sword.
We all need to fight for physical games now, because when they are gone, it will be hard to bring them back.

We the consumer are more powerful than the corporation. That needs to be something that echoes loudly. #NoDiscNoBuy

A streamer says Microsoft permanently deleted his 25-year-old Microsoft account after it was hacked, locking him out of everything connected to it.

According to him, hackers took over the account and changed the recovery details. Even after contacting Microsoft support and providing evidence of ownership, he says he was told the account could not be recovered and was eventually deleted.

The account included:

- 25 years of Xbox history
- Thousands of dollars’ worth of digital games and purchases
- Outlook emails
- OneDrive files and family photos, including baby pictures of his son
- Other Microsoft services tied to the account

A huge new class action lawsuit has been filed by big publishers and authors against Google over AI training.

It opens: "Desperate to maintain its online dominance, Google abandoned its early motto of 'Don’t be evil' and engaged in one of the most prolific infringements of copyrighted materials in history."

It alleges that Google:

- took millions of books / articles provided to them for use only in Google Books, Google Play Books, and Google Scholar, and secretly used them to train LLMs
- had internal discussions where they flagged that using books publishers had provided them for other purposes was "highly problematic for Google" and could lead to "$10Bs-$100Bs in potential fines"
- also trained on works from pirate sites & from behind paywalls
- used all this to build an AI system that competes with the works Google copied
