1/ 🚨 *Court Update on Passport Directive- @legal_networks was in Court Yesterday.

Some days back High Court stopped iligal directive by @burugu_j @DRSKenya that required refugees n asylum seekers in Kenya to hand over their passports from their home countries within 30 days

To organize a meeting to try and resolve the matter out of court or at least agree on key issues.

We go back to Court on 16 December.

Take Home is that @burugu_j and @DRSKenya have "shukad" from their tower of directive.

They have gone back to the Refugee Law Regulations to compare the notes of what they said and what the law and regulations allow

They were wrong on the directive..

🚨Court Alert: A conservatory order has been issued, halting the @DRSKenya and @burugu_j directive dated 30/09/2024. The order suspends the requirement for all refugees and asylum seekers in Kenya to surrender their passports to DSR offices.
