I had the honour of presiding over the recognition of @Kenya_Ports for its outstanding performance in the 2023/24 Performance Contracting Cycle, where the Authority attained a Very Good rating.

This achievement reflects the dedication, professionalism and resilience of the Board, Management and Staff, who have continued to deliver exceptional results despite global disruptions in maritime trade.

In the 2025/26 Financial Year, the Ports of Mombasa and Lamu jointly handled 2.24 million TEUs and 46.4 million tonnes of cargo, representing an 8% growth over the previous year. This remarkable performance reinforces Kenya's position as the leading maritime gateway to East and Central Africa.

I also commend KPA for attaining the internationally recognised ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications, a testament to its commitment to environmental sustainability, occupational safety and operational excellence.

On behalf of the Ministry of Roads and Transport, I congratulate the entire KPA team for earning this well-deserved national recognition. Let this milestone inspire even greater innovation, efficiency and service excellence as we continue building globally competitive ports that drive trade, investment and economic transformation.

Today, I joined my Cabinet colleague Hon. Soipan Tuya, Principal Secretaries Dr. Aurelia Rono, Dr. Kiprono Rono, John Ololtuaa and Julius Korir at Bomet Stadium for the South Rift Cluster rollout of the second phase of the NYOTA Project Fund, as H.E. President Dr. William Samoei Ruto launched the nationwide disbursement from Ulinzi Sports Complex, Nairobi.

The South Rift Cluster received KSh 166.375 million, benefiting 6,655 young entrepreneurs from Bomet, Narok and Kericho. Among them, 4,638 received their second tranche while 2,017 joined the programme as new beneficiaries.

The Kenya Kwanza Administration is disbursing KSh 3.055 billion to 122,203 young people. Each beneficiary receives KSh 25,000, with KSh 3,000 set aside for savings to promote financial discipline, enterprise growth and long-term prosperity.

Under the leadership of H.E. President Dr. William Samoei Ruto, we are investing in the energy, innovation and enterprise of our youth because empowering young people is the surest path to growing our economy from the bottom up and ensuring no region is left behind.
