Can't rush a transmission line through a decade of permits or a transformer past the one steel mill that makes its core or a reactor through fifteen years of construction.The machine that everyone is racing to build sits on a foundation that no amount of money or genius can hurry
Booked an @Airbnb in Chicago, arrived ~8:30pm. Left the next morning after finding the unit didn't match the listing in multiple ways. Filed a documented AirCover claim same day β still fighting for a fair resolution. Thread 𧡠(Reservation HMDWTERQJB)

This case was closed by Edlyn without addressing evidence I had already provided in writing. Specific issues raised before her final decision, including the undisclosed number of people sharing the bathroom, the undisclosed occupant in the room next to it, the timestamp discrepancy in the host's submitted photos, and the withdrawal of an earlier 50 percent refund offer, were not individually addressed in her response. I requested reassignment to a different case manager, consistent with Airbnb's own appeal process, and Edlyn declined that request. The case was closed as final without any of these specific points being answered. Edlyn is very unprofessional, biased and racist.
@bchesky@Airbnb's policy: 'shared bathroom' in a listing is enough disclosure - no requirement to say WHO uses it or WHERE it sits. Mine was next to a room occupied by the Host's undisclosed relative, serving up to 8 guests total. That's a loophole, not a disclosure.
Edlyn (Senior Case Manager): Issued a final decision denying any AirCover refund, stating the cleanliness issue did not qualify based on documentation provided, and that mediation with the Host did not result in an approved refund. Offered a one-time $200 courtesy refund as the final resolution. When I requested reassignment to a different case manager, this request was declined.
Based on my own visual assessment of the Host's submitted photos, I believe they have been AI-edited or digitally altered, specific surfaces, such as the washbasin, appear unnaturally new and polished in a way that is inconsistent with the rest of the space and with what I personally documented at check-in.
@bchesky The host also gave a verbal communication that they will refund the complete money and we stepped out. Now things have changed once we stepped out. We stayed for 12 hours in a 34 day booking rental. And we are not getting any refunds under the Air cover policy.
@AirbnbHelp@Airbnb@AirbnbPolicy
Unfair assessment by your employee. Placing AI/Photo edited pictures shared by host over the real pictures and videos shared by me. This is a clear violation of policy by your company. Kindly request escalation to the highest level.
The host also mentioned that they have an uncle staying in one of the rooms which is right next to the shared bathroom. The host lied that he is not there and that room is mostly empty but the lights were on. When lack of transparency or details are missed by the host how can we stay?
@AirbnbHelp@AirbnbHelp, the case is still unresolved. Kindly request honest validation of AI photo edited pictures by the host. Make use of the technology and validate using meta data. You are a service company and partiality is unwarranted.
Not asking for special treatment - just for Airbnb to enforce the policy they themselves publish. Requesting this get reassigned to someone who'll actually look at the timestamps and evidence side by side. @AirbnbHelp
Despite meeting every documented criteria in Airbnb's own policy, my claim was denied - using photos that don't reflect what guests actually experienced. The escalation call felt dismissive rather than genuinely reviewed.
Host later submitted "before" photos to Airbnb as proof the unit was clean. Those photos don't match what I found at check-in or what I documented myself. The host has edited and posted fake photos
Unit had a stale, unpleasant odor on arrival, unclean kitchen/bathroom, bedding that wasn't fresh. Photographed all of it within an hour of check-in - well inside Airbnb's 72-hour reporting window.
