@OpinionatedEyes Like most of these discussions, it's a spectrum. The issue lies when this archtype of men perpetuate the belief that gay men are incapable of needing love and intimacy, which I think quickly becomes a slippery slope.
I’ve had several encounters with people in the same boat, and it’s always emotionally painful when you realize they take gay men, usually fems, as an easy advantage.
@Quinton_Punch the issue is the inherent assumption that that is how gay men naturally operate. He makes a distinction when speaking about women as if it's in their biology to desire more from their experiences with men but doesn't believe that gay men are capable of desiring the same.
@BJ28098 The assumption that we only desire sex from these men feeds into the same cycle that allows these men to objectify and treat us like we’re incapable of anything beyond our bodies
@BJ28098 If that were the case, why do so many fems relate to what I just said. Again, similar to how hetero men view women, some view feminine people as objects for pleasure over intimacy; it happens time and time again.
@camjordansjersy I can see where youre coming from, but the commonality from what you stated is the attraction to both genders which is only unique to people who fall in the pan/bi/queer spectrum. Thats why biphobia exists as its own separate term.
@camjordansjersy I mean the common reason that straight women have is that bi men engage in same sex relations as a to justify the avoidance which is biphobic in nature
@camjordansjersy I mean straight women use biphobia to justify their reasons. I’m only speaking about a subset of bi-men who actively prey on gay men under the idea that we are emotionally void and easy
@gvonorm Yesss it’s just really telling especially when as a gay man we’re already emotionally vulnerable, to an extent. A lot of men think that being a man means you’re inherently void in sensitivity, which can be so traumatic
