我們公司 @Heptabase 這兩天開始公開招募工程師，這是公司第一次公開徵才，我想藉這個機會記錄一下我入職幾個月來的感受，看能否有機會多推一把，讓厲害的人更想來應徵。

對我來說，Heptabase 團隊有下列三點非常突出的特質，讓我很願意大力推薦與分享：

1. High agency：這是我進團隊後才學到的概念，簡單來說，agency 越高的人，就越能夠獨立研究與學習團隊當下需要但還不具備的能力，並且應用在團隊遇到的重要問題上。Heptabase 團隊的人都是這樣的人，能獨立研究、能解決問題，能持續尋求更好的做法。

2. High trust：我們是個全遠端的團隊，大多時候要獨立工作，少數時候需要討論協作，我感覺到的是每個人都非常信任每個人的專業能力、職業素養、以及針對各種大大小小問題上的決策判斷。這樣的信任感／被信任感，帶來的好處是絕大多數的討論都能迅速聚焦在問題核心上，即使對於做事的方法有疑問，你也知道對方針對的是事情，是善意的詢問而不是質疑。

3. High alignment of directions：我們有著明確的願景（Vision）以及達成願景的 roadmap ，並且會持續討論與確認當前最重要的目標是什麼、為此需要做出的取捨是什麼。在互相理解與達成共識後，大家就是照著這個方向去執行，直到有新的資訊或情勢變化讓我們覺得需要調整步驟或方向為止。這個感覺很好，尤其是綜合前面兩點，你會很信任也清楚知道夥伴正在做的事情是為了什麼而做、不做什麼事情又是基於什麼考量，因此絕大多數時間都不用再為了「要不要做、該不該做」而多花力氣討論。

在這樣的團隊裡面做事，不僅能夠讓自己發揮最好的狀態與能力，更能夠持續從強者同事身上學習，並一起解決新遇到的問題。我相信這樣的環境，對於每個專業工作者來說，都很有吸引力。

更別提，作為一個 Heptabase 的忠實用戶，能夠看著它越來越好，能夠整天跟人討論它有多好、還可以怎樣更好，真的是一件非常幸福的事。

一起床看到這篇，短短的覺得很想翻譯分享一下，如下：

1. Optimism, obsession, self-belief, raw horsepower and personal connections are how things get started.

樂觀、著迷、自信、原始動力和人與人之間的連結是事物開始的方式。

2. Cohesive teams, the right combination of calmness and urgency, and unreasonable commitment are how things get finished. Long-term orientation is in short supply; try not to worry about what people think in the short term, which will get easier over time.

凝聚力強的團隊、冷靜與緊迫感的完美結合，以及不講理的投入是完成事物的方式。長期導向的思維並不普遍；嘗試不去擔心人們的短期看法，這會隨著時間變得更容易。

3. It is easier for a team to do a hard thing that really matters than to do an easy thing that doesn’t really matter; audacious ideas motivate people.

4. Incentives are superpowers; set them carefully.

5. Concentrate your resources on a small number of high-conviction bets; this is easy to say but evidently hard to do. You can delete more stuff than you think.

6. Communicate clearly and concisely.

7. Fight bullshit and bureaucracy every time you see it and get other people to fight it too. Do not let the org chart get in the way of people working productively together.

8. Outcomes are what count; don’t let good process excuse bad results.

9. Spend more time recruiting. Take risks on high-potential people with a fast rate of improvement. Look for evidence of getting stuff done in addition to intelligence.

10. Superstars are even more valuable than they seem, but you have to evaluate people on their net impact on the performance of the organization.

我在 @Heptabase 裡面有許多主題白板，有的屬於那種長期會持續累積內容的主題。有時候在這些白板裡面加入新內容、拆解這些內容時，會突然發現我好像「不知道」某件事，這時我通常會隨意在旁邊記個待辦事項，例如「再研究一下什麼是 folgezettel」。

有的時候則是研究完以後，有個對應的待辦事項出現，例如「寫一篇如何用 Zola 架站的介紹文」。

但這些任務通常沒有什麼截止日期，甚至也沒有一定要做，比較像是一個備忘，一個提醒，讓我哪天興致高昂的時候可以就地展開。

久而久之，這些有點不像是「任務」的待辦事項越來越多，也橫跨白板以及我的每日 journals。我不會因此感到壓力，反而因為 Heptabase 的特性，我只要找到主題白板，就知道我在這個主題上還有哪些不清楚或者想做的事，而可以接著往下作。

但有的時候還是會想要有個地方，可以一次看到所有白板、所有卡片、所有 journal 頁面裡面，我到底曾經對什麼東西感興趣、想要做些什麼事。

昨天推出的 Task app ，可以很好的給我一個全局的視角，讓我鳥瞰橫跨在 Heptabase 中不同主題的待辦事項，讓我可以重新檢視看看哪些對我仍有意義，哪些已經不再有衝動。我覺得他跟專門的任務管理軟體要處理的要解決的是不同事情，但現在針對「發生在 Heptabase 內、只在 Heptabase 內有意義」的待辦事項，我可以不再需要紀錄到別的軟體裡面，這是我當前感受到的最大價值。

不遠的將來應該就會有更全面的功能了！超級期待！

Code is your tool.

I don't spend my time only thinking about the code I will write or which design patterns I want to use.

Those are all important, but...

Understanding the problem you are solving and focusing on that is what gets you results.
