Been watching/playing football for 50 years, and saw this one live on TV with my son. We're not Seahawks fans—prefer the 49ers. But objectively, that Kupp spot was a bad call. He was airborne, extended the ball past the marker, and only landed out of bounds. Checked the book: rules say you spot it where the ball is when he touches out. Should’ve been a first down. Call it right.
I want the next generation to have better reffing than my generation had. What happened to that "chip in the ball" tech we heard so much about? Hard to justify this call.

@GriffithsDVM The tech to answer precisely is more than feasible. Ultra wide band isn't Sci-Fi, and it would be nice to see the NFL combine that kind of tech with Hawk Eye and professional refs, but apparently that's too much to ask from a 300 billion dollar league.
A.R. 15.44
Line to gain at the sideline, player ruled out of bounds
Third-and-5 on A35.
A1 runs near the sideline and officials rule that he stepped out of bounds at the A39 and spot the ball there.
Replays show that A1 did not step out of bounds at the A39, and (a) when A1’s foot was near the sideline, the ball was at the A40; or
(b) A1 was inbounds at the A39, he took one step inbounds, dove for the line to gain and the ball broke the sideline at the A41 yard line during his dive.
Rulings:
(a) Reviewable. A’s ball first-and-10 on A40. The spot of the ball when A1 was ruled out of bounds is reviewable in relation to the line to gain.
(b) Reviewable. A’s ball first-and-10 on A41. In this play, even though the officials ruled the player stepped out of bounds, if replays show that he did not step out and took fewer than two steps to reach the line to gain or reached the line to gain within a step and a dive, replay can award the advance for a first down.

Open-source agents just got a $1.5B validation (Nous/Hermes $90M Series B) while OpenAI ships GPT-6 Intelligent UI and investors argue whether falling prices expand or squeeze the infra boom. The AI stack is moving on every layer at once—weights, agents, interfaces, and margins.
America has spent billions trying to manage veteran suicide as a mental-health crisis. We believe a significant part of the failure is that we are treating downstream crisis instead of rebuilding the human infrastructure that prevents crisis: identity, purpose, meaning and belonging. We’ve built and operated a physical prototype of that system over 8 years with no outside support. Now we want to measure it, instrument it and see whether it can scale.
