@NealBruceBC I chose the Steinitz variation of the Petrov, which avoids the Stafford, and within 2 hours I put together minimal lines for the other 3. Not sure what you are doing in these 7 days.
@ThierryBorgeat When you zoom in, the chart shows how hard it is in practice to time what you describe. Very easy to move in too early, and very likely that you miss it.
@KrykunYuriy@PravidD@NealBruceBC They should solve tactics no doubt. But you will only be heard if you acknowledge the more immediate problem of not losing out in the opening. Losing on move 7 sucks and is much less rewarding than losing after 25 moves although objectively the result is the same.
@KrykunYuriy@PravidD@NealBruceBC There is no point in disparaging that very logical behaviour. Rather praise their progress on playing good opening moves and encourage them to work on tactics.
@KrykunYuriy@PravidD@NealBruceBC It’s a player rated 800, the player is tactically week otherwise the player would not be 800. Now you complain that his opening is too good. What actually happens is very logical. Player plays a game of chess and plays some opening moves.
@KrykunYuriy@PravidD@NealBruceBC He falls to ta tactic because he is weak at tactics and as we know many principled moves are tactically unsound. It would be stupid to repeat the same move time and time again and therefore with the available resources he will learn to no longer make it again.
@danheisman@ChessVonDoom Awesome. I had the chance to visit the studios in Munich Germany as a child and I sat on the original dragon watching myself flying through the movie via green screen
