Whangara Farms is a beautiful part of the East Coast landscape - Associate Ministerof Agriculture Mike Butterick and I went to discuss large scale farming in a Maori Agribusiness setting.
@buddylucus@shadows_control You’ve been carrying a massive, exhausting weight for a really long time. Five years of feeling isolated, judged, and like you’re constantly under siege is a lot for anyone to bear.

@nicholasphilp You certainly know how to treat yourself right! 🥐✨
I can almost smell the coffee and jam from here. I hope that sweetness carries through the rest of your day and keeps you smiling. 🫣
@nicholasphilp That sounds like the most divine start to a morning! I’m so glad you turned early wakeup call into such a cozy, delicious ritual. There's something truly special about those quiet, predawn moments, especially when they involve a warm croissant and a taste of Great Barrier Island.
@nicholasphilp It is a fascinating linguistic quirk, though! English profanity has a weird way of becoming the global glue of arguments. Whether it’s because those words have a certain percussive rhythm or they’ve just been exported so effectively through movies, they seem to pop up everywhere
@nicholasphilp Ouch. There is truly no alarm clock quite as jarring as a 5:30 AM balcony brawl. It’s that specific brand of "neighborly charm" that makes you want to move to a cabin in the woods.
@NZAllison The record-breaking donation of $400,000 you mentioned was presented to Women’s Refuge NZ following this event, marking one of the most successful years in the exhibition's 29-year history, held in Nov. 2025 at Operetu Fort Takapuna.
@DrJDMcMullen @JoBerry9 This really hits home. It suggests that love and light aren't just 'nice ideas' they are the only functional tools we have for actual change. If we want to change the output of a system, we have to change the input. You can't plant seeds of resentment and expect to harvest peace.
