For years, residents of Spring Village, Old Harbour Gutters and surrounding communities faced significant challenges after the bridge deteriorated, forcing motorists and commuters to take longer routes and, in many cases, multiple taxis to reach their destinations.

Lifelong Spring Village resident Mr. Patrick Rhoden, who has been a wheelchair user since 1995, shared how the new bridge will make daily travel easier and safer, particularly for persons with disabilities. The inclusion of accessible ramps means wheelchair users can now cross the bridge safely and independently without having to travel on the roadway.

Today's opening restores a vital connection between communities, improves accessibility, and supports easier movement for residents, commuters and businesses alike.

We thank Prime Minister Andrew Holness and all stakeholders who helped make this long-awaited project a reality.
