If students' brains cannot find the usefulness of information, it is more likely to be difficult to integrate (understand) the information in a meaningful way.
Relevance has a direct relationship with student motivation.
Grateful for having worked with young people on the Katale exhibition event. Business formalization is indeed a key pillar that most young entrepreneurs need. Special thanks to @RFonudation@CRVPF1@FIDA_Uganda@she4changeug@Somerouganda09
Where were you at 10? Do you remember what you wanted to be? How big was your world?
In some of the underserved schools where our Teacher Leaders are making a world of difference, children grow up knowing only what is around them. For some, the biggest dream they can imagine is working on a wealthy person’s farm or owning a bicycle one day.
Not because they cannot dream bigger, but because you can only imagine what you have had a chance to see.
We took our Board Chair, Ivan Ssenfuma, to visit some of these schools. He was amazed by teachers doing extraordinary work with so little, and one thought stayed with him:
What could just one book awaken in a child?
A book can introduce a child to a place they have never seen, an idea they have never encountered, or a future they did not even know was possible.
And today, 8 in 10 children aged 10 in Uganda cannot read and understand a Primary Two-level story.
This International Literacy Day, help us open up a child’s world.
Give a book. You may be giving a child their first glimpse of what is possible.

🩸 Every girl deserves to stay in school, period.
Earlier this week, we partnered with @MissUgandaOrg for the 7-days Sanitary pad Program supporting young girls with menstrual pads and pepsodent, to keep them in school and compete fairly.
