As soon as UPSC results are out, the first question asked from any topper is the number of hours they used to study.
It is shown that toppers are some super human beings who don’t need sleep or they are so devoted that they sacrifice their sleep for their goals.
All the aspirants who take inspiration from these toppers either get inspired to not sleep or they get disheartened that they are not good enough because they commit the sin of sleeping.
During my preparation day even I was subjected to this same widespread misconception.
Later years I found how wrong is this common myth. there is enough research available which shows how important is sleep for maintaining high level of focus and retention of what one studies. Sleep has an overall healing effect.
Every aspirant should focus on having a disciplined routine, which includes time for ample sleep. Sleep should be like a ritual. It is very important to have your body clock set and not temper with it drastically.

My final OpEd as President @ficci_india is on the theme of the 96th AGM and Annual Convention #TheWorldsGrowthEngine. The trifecta of a large unified domestic market, sustained reforms, and favourable demographics which is driving India’s economic rise, benefiting the world in the process.

Today is the 62nd Foundation Day of @IMFALtd and the 92nd birth anniversary of the Founder, my father Dr Bansidhar Panda; proud to carry forward his legacy.
The upcoming expansion project at Kalinganagar, increase in ore raising, move towards renewable energy, digitalisation initiatives, etc and a debt-free balance sheet will firmly establish IMFA as a market leader.
My best wishes to all members of the IMFA family on this occasion.
