Don’t depend on other people to affirm, approve, or validate you. That’s no way to live. That puts your self-worth and mood in their hands. Put it in God’s hands. Go to Him for your value and approval.
The Scripture says, “God’s mercies are new every morning.” Not once a month, not every year. Every morning, there’s fresh mercy waiting for you, but you have to receive it.
Start every morning thanking God for what He promised over your life. “Father, thank You that You promised the path of the righteous gets brighter and brighter. You promised no good thing will You withhold because I walk uprightly. You Promised You would do exceeding, abundantly above and beyond what I can imagine.”
Isaiah said to put God in remembrance of His promises. When we face difficulties, one of the best things we can do is find a promise in the Scripture and remind God what He said about us. “God, You promised I would lend and not borrow. You promised my children will be mighty in the land. You promised with long life, You will satisfy me.”
God brings people in and moves people out. Quit being discouraged over who walked away, who wouldn’t stay. If they left you, you didn’t need them. If they walked away, let them go. God has new relationships, new opportunities.
We don’t like change. We don’t want to have to stretch. But God loves you too much to let you stay in the desert. He’s not going to let you stay at one level. He’ll close doors because a new door is about to open.
A sound mind is not discouraged over the bad break; it’s expecting God to open a new door. It’s not bitter over who left you; it’s knowing God has someone better coming. A sound mind is not looking in the rear view mirror; it’s expecting the new things God has in store. That’s the way God created you to live: positive, peaceful, trusting.
You need to take back control of your happiness. Quit putting it in someone else’s hands. Make up your mind that no matter what people do, no matter what they say, how they treat you, they’re not going to steal your joy.
God meets you at the level of your expectations. If you expect nothing, you’re going to receive nothing. But when you’re thirsty, you say, “God, I don’t see how, but I know You can do exceedingly, abundantly above all I can ask or think.”
The Scripture says, “When you’re good to your enemies, it’s like heaping coals of fire on their head.” When you’re good to those who are not good to you, not only will you rise higher, but God will deal with those who are not treating you right.
Any time you’re about to step into a new level, the enemy will attack. He doesn’t want you to fulfill your purpose. He’s okay if you stay where you are. But when you start to move forward and take new ground, break out of limitations, don’t be surprised if you face resistance. That’s a sign you’re about to step into a greater level, greater favor, greater influence, greater opportunity.
The pressure in your life is not there to defeat you; it’s there to propel you. You’re feeling the weight, the worry, the forces trying to stop you, but that pressure is a sign that something is shifting, favor is building, healing is coming, vindication is releasing, doors are opening.
Turn your pressure into praise. Turn your worry into worship. Instead of complaining about what didn’t work out and feeling overwhelmed by what’s not changing, why don’t you thank God that He’s fighting your battles, that nothing can stand against Him, that what He started He will finish in your life.
Proverbs says, “Don’t say I’ll get even for the wrong; wait for the Lord to handle the matter.” If you’ll wait, God will vindicate you better than you can vindicate yourself. His solution is better than your solution. Hold your peace. Remain at rest. You may not see anything happening, but God is up to something.
It’s not up to you to control outcomes, strive and strain. There’s a much better way to live. Understand that what God has purposed, He’s going to make happen. He’s going to open doors. He’s going to cause you to shine, to stand out. You can stay in peace.

When you ask for what looks impossible, that’s when angels go to work, that’s when new doors open, that’s when chains break, that’s when you’ll come into overflow, more than enough. Freedom begins when you start praying bold prayers.
On the way to your purpose, there will be divine delays, divine detours. The route may not be what you expected, but you’re still going to get to the destination He has for you. Maybe people do you wrong. Setbacks that weren’t your fault. It’s not catching God off guard. He knows everything. It’s positioning you for greater things.
You can have many disappointments, many adversities, many delays, but don’t worry, what God has purposed will prevail. What He assigned you to accomplish cannot be overridden. It will come to pass.

His purpose is at work. You may not understand it right now, but you can trust that God knows what He’s doing. You will see, what you thought was a setback, was really setting you up for greater things. Don’t fight everything you don’t like. Live at rest knowing that God’s purpose will prevail.
God parts Red Seas. He’ll slay your giants. He’ll call you out of the shepherds’ fields and anoint you when you’re overlooked. He’ll close the mouths of hungry lions. He opens prison doors in the midnight hour. If Lazarus were here, he would tell you, “Even when you’re in a tomb, wrapped in grave clothes, He’ll call you back to life to finish your assignment.”
