After the uprisings @JenParker393 & I wanted to read & hear from folks organizing & thinking about how we change our current condition. It didn't exist so we made our own. We hope you read it. Share it. Sign up to get it. It's free. Hammer & Hope is live today.
The story of Monopoly has always carried a poignant and dark message-- a Quaker folk game (created by a woman) meant to be freely shared and to teach the dangers of capitalism gets... monopolized. Now my wife and her colleagues at @insigniafilms have brought it to life!
A whole bunch of people who write or have written for the New York Times published a letter this morning calling out the paper's anti-trans pivot. @HellGateNY interviewed one of the organizers, @Jo_Livingstone, about what's going on at the Times: https://t.co/cgJH66E98Z
Some professional news: I've been laid off from my role as exec editor @CatapultStory mag; the company is shuttering the mag & classes program. (https://t.co/YVEydx7vEI)
I'm shocked & sad, but proud of the work & growth I've done there for 4.5 years and eager for a fresh start.
As it stands, Biden will leave a cruel legacy on #asylum—but there is still time to change course.
During the #SOTU, we urge @POTUS to announce plans to:
➡️ Expand parole
➡️ Roll back asylum bans
➡️ Implement a fair asylum process at the border
We must #WelcomeWithDignity
This is what’s happening to public educators in Florida right now.
The man behind this surveillance—and the bans enforcing the identity- and thought-policing behind it—wants to be the next US president.
When we learn our history of fighting against injustice & trying to make a better world, we're stronger for it. #RontheRacist knows that too, so he's trying to take that away from us. To that we say: AIN'T NO FKN WAY. Join the call Thursday at 7pm EST. https://t.co/6SUH2Rz3t0
The racist governor of Florida has given us no choice.

Reminder‼️
(I lost two days to this, plus stress throughout the week, so if you’re traveling anytime soon, change your flight to avoid this if you can!)
@queteimporta883 Oh no, can you change it? Do anything you can right now! Especially if you’re traveling soon. The airport was such a mess—and the staff there were at times quite clear that it wasn’t just about the weather (happens every year, but they aren’t at all prepared)
I’m tired of losing the people and beings I love, I’m tired of being treated like shit amid these huge losses, and I’m tired of fake apologies without actions that demonstrate accountability and care.
The 2020s are really something else. Hold your loved ones close.
@AmericanAir Yeah, thanks for the autoresponse that shows that you don’t read this—didn’t help me then (when your airline didn’t load my bag on a flight or consistently track it) and it doesn’t help me now
This was the second time my flight was canceled—for reasons that had almost nothing to do with the weather. Another traveler said it was his THIRD cancelled flight in one trip—he’s been trying to get from Wilmington, NC to Tucson since Tuesday and had missed three days of work.
