Thrilled to announce our latest dinosaur discovery from the Isle of Skye in Scotland: two new Jurassic-aged tracksites, with dozens of tracks, some made by dinosaurs we didn't know lived here!
The head of the newly described avialan dinosaur Ovulodentavis found preserved in amber! And it was sooo tiny. This is what I was talking about yesterday. Here is a sketch I did of it and here is the is the paper https://t.co/dlQTaswMpD
Finally got around to reconstruct the recently described Wulong bohaiensis, a Microraptorian Dromaeosaurid from Early Cretaceous China. Here I reconstructed a speculative adult, the holotype (and only specimen) of this taxon is a juvenile/subadult #paleoart#sciart#dinosaurs
This has been the decade that the door to my dream, working in wildlife conservation, was both realized and opened.
Here are 10 of my favorite moments (not in order!)
1. The first time I flew a raptor was with Sokoni, a hooded vulture, during my first part-time keeper job!
Feathers in #dinosaurs today play an important role in display and it is more than likely the same occurred in non avian dinosaurs. Especially since display was possibly one of the first purposes of feathers. Sketch of speculative crests on a coelurosaur #paleoart#sciart
#WritingCommunity, do you have a writing schedule/favorite time to write?
I'm hoping to build a stricter writing schedule next year and am wondering what works for others.
If you work from home like I do I cannot stress enough the importance of:
a) getting dressed even if you aren't going out
b) doing your work away from your bed so your brain is trained to recognize "this is a place for rest not work"
#WritingCommunity How do you write the first draft? I tend to edit a little as I go along, and then after I've finished I'll go back and edit some more. Does anyone just write and not look back til the end? I find that pretty hard myself, but I've got a nitpicky brain 😛
Stegosaurs, the pinnacle of Jurassic Thyreophorans (in my opinion). This is still a WIP of an illustration for my book. Huayangosaurus taibaii (left) and Stegosaurus ungulatus (right). 1.8 m tall human added for scale #paleoart#sciart#ThyreophoranThursday
@jlbernard88 I'd say it depends on your goal; it's always helpful to have an academic perspective on writing etc. but I've found myself frustrated at the way it's marked (since "good writing" is so subjective). You do get to meet and read many different writers/styles though!
Hey #FellowWriter, just a little reminder for you today❤️:
You’re a great writer and you’re going to make it. Never forget that and never doubt it.

More of an experiment with brushes, tried to archive an impressionistic look. I really like the textures here so I decided to share this one, also, a mammal 😉
