For all those concerned I am alright. I've taken some time away from streaming to prioritize my goals. I hadn't really allowed myself a meaningful break in years and it's helped me to refocus. I'll be back soon and you can expect some changes I think you'll all like! Till then.
An unfortunate reality but there's too many variables behind the reason that it's just not worth the energy. It's important not to take it personally and focus on what you can actually control.
Media literacy in general has been diluted for the sake of consumer convenience. That demand and subsequent supply for instant gratification has dulled the edge for a lot of people. Nuance and subtlety is left unspoken for so long as the bellies are full.
I don't wanna make anyone feel bad about it, but no one plays video games or watches stuff anymore- everything is consumed through clips and no one knows what the moral or message of anything is anymore and it's kind of frustrating
The way of contests is that you put effort into developing a skill set and you express that effort and showcase how far you've come with it.
You're suggesting that people not only skip that part but utilize creative theft and seem surprised by the backlash. Interesting.
Hi everyone. We’d like to address the recent discussion around the AI video contest, and first of all, we’re sorry for upsetting players with this event. We’re also sorry that we didn’t communicate with everyone clearly enough before the event started.
Our original goal was to lower the barrier to creation. In past contests, we saw players with great ideas and scripts who couldn’t fully bring them to life because they weren’t familiar with tools like editing, modeling, or animation software. We hoped AI could be a more accessible tool that lets more people take part.
That said, we understand the concerns around AI content. We are not trying to dismiss handmade work or disrespect creators. To us, AI is just another tool. What we truly care about is the idea, the expression, and the final work.
We’d like to leave the next step up to the community. Please vote on what we should do:
1. Cancel the AI video contest
2. Change it into a non-AI creation contest
3. Keep the AI category and add a separate handmade category
If you have another suggestion outside of these three options, please feel free to share it as well.
Thank you.
no matter how talented you are, you might not end up being successful.
whats needed then is either incredible luck with algorithm, or support from others to push you towards where you need and deserve to be.
its frustrating when you have neither of those.
Starting to see some real connections forming in the community and that's such a reward on its own. That's what I'm here for. Let's keep growing the Ember Network!
Bold font all caps and underline on all that.
Disingenuous slop is what the algorithm feeds off of because it's the instant gratification most people want but certainly not what they need.
Most male VTubers are genuinely awesome people, but they struggle to find success because the space rewards lying, manipulation, telling people what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear, inauthenticity, playing a character, and catering to male/female fantasies
Stop rewarding shitty behavior, and I think most people would be pleasantly surprised to discover that—well—most people are actually kind of wonderful. They've just never been given a real chance
