5 Live Breakfast was given access to the National Crime Agency as it tries to stop people smugglers and Channel crossings.
More than 33,000 people have crossed the Channel in small boats this year, including 20,000 since Labour came to power.
Adam Berry, senior manager at NCA Investigations, showed @rachelburden a migrant boat which was used in a fatal crossing attempt this year.
Authorities said the boat ran aground on a sandbank after leaving the French coast near Boulogne, before continuing on.
