AI made writing code faster. It did not make shipping code easier. The bottleneck moved. Most teams haven't noticed yet.
Everyone got faster at generating code. Almost no one got faster at delivering it. Generating code is not the same thing as delivering software.
In 2019 the problem was: Git is hard. In 2026 the problem is: Git is easy. Keeping all the AI-generated code from breaking everything is not. Big changes are coming next week.
Hot take: the most AI-proof developer skill is not ‘prompt engineering.’
It'a making your work easy for other humans to understand. Clean branches. Useful commits. Reviewable PRs. A repo history that tells the truth. That's leverage.

Fair. Watch this anyway.

Your opinions about AI can stay too ;)
Remote control is now live in the Copilot CLI!
Run Copilot on your local machine, leave it plugged in, head to the beach, and drive the agent from your mobile phone 😎
The @GitHub Research folks released a "Rubber Duck" agent for the Copilot CLI.
Automatically get a review from a model from a different AI family.
And their data shows that yes, this does in fact help. Quite a bit.
“Stop making your agent a process manager”
The agent harnesses really suck at this. Some attempt to keep track of background processes but the experience is not good. Having a dedicated tool that the agent can query results in a much better devex. @aspiredotdev does this.
Hey folks!
