I genuinely don't understand why we're being asked to buy a book with important information about Trump when that information could have already been reported in the newspaper employing the two journalists who wrote said book.
More than 40 years ago, I arrived in Chicago in search of an idea. I was a young man looking for purpose, who believed deeply in America, was inspired by the Civil Rights Movement, and wanted to be a part of something larger. The America I believed in was one where everyone has opportunity, everyone is seen, everyone belongs—because that was an America that had a place for me, too.
There is a fundamental problem with Nebraska’s leadership culture.
They’re happy to spend down a $1.6 billion surplus on tax cuts, subsidies, prisons, and culture wars… and when the bill comes due, families, schools, healthcare, higher ed, etc are expected to absorb the cuts.
In summary: the entire War in Iran was pointless. Iran is now stronger. We are not safer. Our service members died for no good reason. And Trump is now proposing a $300B fund with our money to the Iranian regime, so that he can end his colossal embarrassment.
The fact that the Epstein Estate ACTUALLY PAID a settlement to one of the women who alleged that Donald Trump raped her as a minor, and it was paid AFTER Epstein died, as told under oath by Epstein's longtime accountant, should be a more significant story. The fact that Trump said he wasn't ever on Epstein's plane and now we found out he was, should be a more significant story. The fact that senior officials gathered in the Situation Room to concoct and coordinate an Epstein coverup IS a significant story, and being treated as such, but in light of all the rest and his behavior throughout, it should be the end of his presidency.
People only hate Elon Musk because he comes from an emerald mining fortune made in apartheid South Africa, he buys ideas and pretends he’s an inventor, he’s a white supremacist, union-busting, abusive employer, he’s hoarding $1T in stolen wages, he makes us ashamed to be human,
Chad lives on an island with 20 other people.
Chad has all the food on the island and allows people one meal a day for their labor.
The people are barely surviving, and the children are emaciated.
Chad is a glutton who has massive buffets of food every day and throws away what he doesn't eat while the children starve.
Is Chad a bad person?
Lieu: The president is not well. He has tremendous difficulty staying awake on the job. He has repeatedly fallen asleep at Cabinet meetings, at White House events, at a Memorial Day ceremony, and most recently at a very loud NBA game last night.
The White House needs to explain why Donald Trump keeps going to the hospital and taking cognitive tests.
BREAKING: Congress Just Learned Something Pretty Stunning About Jeffrey Epstein’s Operation.
According to Rep. Melanie Stansbury, Epstein’s longtime executive assistant admitted her legal fees are being paid by a fund established through Epstein’s estate.
Read that again.
Jeffrey Epstein died in 2019.
Yet his money is still paying the attorneys of a key witness connected to his network.
Then came another admission.
She acknowledged helping arrange calls between Epstein and Trump, Prince Andrew, and other powerful figures.
Even now, Epstein’s money appears to be shaping who can afford legal representation and who can’t.
That’s a remarkable revelation.
My god. Sickeningly unethical.
Email directive from Bari Weiss to 60 Minutes executive producer Tanya Simon:
“Can we make the protesters look more violent? […]
The other thing was, Renee Good’s car. You need to describe her as driving toward the officer.”
The Revolt Inside 60 Minutes Just Got Worse.
Legendary correspondent Steve Kroft is now accusing CBS leadership of "journalistic interference."
His verdict?
"It was a slap in the face to everybody who has worked there."
Notice the pattern.
Scott Pelley says he was stonewalled.
Sharon Alfonsi says Pelley was fired for asking questions.
Now Steve Kroft says management is interfering with journalism.
At some point, this stops looking like a personnel dispute.
And starts looking like a newsroom rebellion.
My one ask to everyone right now: Spread the word about the threats to democracy and how we can fight back. Tell everyone to subscribe to Democracy Docket for free and share its content with everyone you know. Thanks. https://t.co/0StGlWz45f
Breaking: Kennedy Center staff is now being ordered to remove Trump’s name from the building. The removal of his name could happen within hours or days. As I found earlier today, his name is even on the center’s buses.
As Nebraskans struggle to pay their bills Mike Flood voted to cut $2.5 million in federal funding for our state.
These cuts to water & waste programs, rural business development grants, renewable energy assistance, and rural broadband deployment will result in higher costs for Nebraskans #NE01
1. A Popular Information reveals that two more "progressive" super PACs are linked to House Republicans and Speaker Mike Johnson.
They've worked pretty hard to cover their tracks, but not quite hard enough.
