@Brady_H Got the Hyperion 3 two months ago and love it. Was my primary trainer during the last half of a recent successful marathon block. Faster pace at easy effort. Worked well for tempo and intervals. Recovery seemed better too. May have to try the Max next time.
@JasonFitz1 I run early AM during the week and Saturday long runs fluctuate based on what I’m training for and other family activities that day. My plan would rarely sync with a group. My motivation is internal.
@RunnerBeck I’m far from elite. One BQ and hopefully another soon. But I’ll do some testing in training and have a plan for my next marathon. I use Maurten gels and I’ll hydrate on course with water and sports drink provided. I learn from elites even if I can’t replicate exactly.
@Brady_H Boston is for runners. That’s why we train and try so hard to qualify. Walkers are welcome in a lot of events. I respect everyone who is trying to be fit. Give runners this place.
@Brady_H Not a morning person by nature but switched to morning runs/workouts a few years ago and it’s worked for me. It’s also easier for me to get to bed earlier with no kids at home. Kids activities in the evening made it tougher to do morning exercise.
@Brady_H Conditions will always vary. Cold and rainy. Hot and humid. Just adjust pace and strategy to succeed on that day. May not hit your number but you move on. Next race may be the “one”.
Great feedback on the latest episode of the Strength Running Podcast with @JohnGoldman. This was a unique "case study" on the unreasonable goal of qualifying for Boston in a year (and taking 2 hours off your time...)
