@dickurkel1998@fluidathletics You’re right and they shouldn’t. That’s the point. “Happened to be born” by way of his parents choosing a better country to come to 🙄
@RobHoopRunning@karlkauffman@jgault13 Well I would assume someone who takes pride in their country would want to run for said country? Regardless if there’s an easier way to the Olympics / Worlds. Especially if said country is all he’s ever known and is the reason he is where he is today. 🤷🏼♂️
@theballisorange Man, this same thing happened to me a couple of years ago at a Turkey trot. A whole ham to the winner - I would smash all previous winners times. Two HS elites from a different state show up and I get 3rd. 🫠
@RobHoopRunning@karlkauffman@jgault13 Switch? He was born and raised in the US. Why not have some pride in the country that you were born and raised in and represent that country from the beginning? You know, the country that gave him the opportunity to become a 59:12 guy.
@McKirdyTrained@RunBlogRun Those are just the two well known groups, too. I imagine there are plenty of smaller groups who are more willing to break/bend the rules to gain more money and notoriety in the sport.
@jeff_thies6@runthemtnman@Predamame I don’t know how you can’t look at the stats and say it is not trending for more and more international runners. Again - bad for US distance.
