@WitchyWhittaker Davros I think it's drawing more aesthetic parallel to the Daleks, that and emphasising their themes of survival over all. So I don't think it's a necessary change in this case, but there's certainly a case for more, positive, representation for those with disabilities in general
@WitchyWhittaker I wouldn't necessarily say it makes a mockery of them purely because it's not supposed to be funny, but there's certainly overbearing representation in media that "disability = bad" it's been the same since probably forever. Shakespeare with Richard III for example.
@archives1963 I don't get the point you're trying to make here. We're in agreement that it's RTD that's said it's racist. I understand this to mean "racist within the fiction I have created" you understand it to mean "racist in real life."
Whether it was in Hulke's original is immaterial
@archives1963 As it goes, I also think a large part of the point of the Sea Devils and Silurians has been missed by making them more human looking. The point of them was how an inhuman looking thing can also be a fully rounded person. But your outrage at fictional racism seems forced.
@archives1963 No, that's not the same at all. First of all I don't really agree with the "need" to change Davros and doubt it'll stick any way. Secondly it's the Sea Devils themselves that find the name offensive, not real people.
@archives1963 Phillip, you were pretty cool a few years ago. Why now have you got to go round talking so much shit? Sorry to be rude, but there's no other word for it. Just meaningless angry buzzwords, why and at what are you so cross?
@Nick12604@RoyalMailHelp I'm in the same boat - no updates since it apparently departed Heathrow on 22/11. Much as though I understand strikes I'd have hoped to have heard something by now
@whocolour Aye. I've tried that, cable wiggling, blowing into it, hitting it with a hammer and I might try Human sacrifice next - got to be worth a shot hasn't it?
All I want to do is watch #DoctorWho's #TheVisitation today but the picture from my VCR keeps cutting out, have tried wiggling the scary cable and everything. It's very distracting.
This very dull tweet brought to you by the 1990s
@whocolour Not a popular opinion I know, but I wish we had more of Space Pirates. The models are superb and so far ahead of other contemporary BBCSFX work would be such a treat to see more. Cracking work on the colours by the way chum!
@commander_mac @TomTypesWords Indeed, and incidentally what I'm most looking forward to is ALL the support @_Fanderson will be showing this exciting new project. I expect they won't shut up about it
