#Measles can be a serious infection that can lead to complications, especially in young children & those with weakened immune systems. Measles spreads easily but it is preventable. Make sure you & your loved ones are up to date with your #MMR jabs or catch up on any missed jabs.
You will see the AMS team out and about reviewing patients on the wards for:

🙌 87% of antimicrobials were prescribed according to MicroGuide
🎉93% had a stop/review date

Liz is our fantastic AMS/ IPC nurse associate, this is a new role. Liz reviews patient notes on AMU daily and supports sampling to make sure we have all the right information needed to treat our patients, Liz also provides AMS and IPC education and training @IPCWalsall#WAAW
A highly valuable intervention which also included prompting TWOC & promoting indwelling device care.
At the end of #WAAW I pledge that @IPCWalsall will be regularly present at antibiotic time outs as part of the MDT, actively influencing #IPC in person centred care
At the end of #WAAW we were joined by @LisaRuthCarroll and @IPC_Amy reviewing every patient on an antibiotic on Ward 9&10 on “time out” ward round, we
✅ reviewed cultures and sensitivities
✅ checked it’s the right antibiotic
✅ IV to PO switch
✅ stopped and escalated abx
