@JenKteach @CathyNickels6 @UglaStefania Funny. Seeing as Iceland routinely tops indexes for gender equality, and 92% of women in my country are happy with Trans rights or want to increase them. Highest on women's and Trans rights and women here support Trans rights.
@JenKteach @UglaStefania Australia, Denmark, Sweden, United Kingdom and Iceland are all roughly as bad as each other with 90+ of those screened as downs syndrome aborted.
Well documented and evidenced.
@JenKteach @UglaStefania Not defending it. Pointing out that were comparable to other countries. Why you chose to bring it into a discussion about the legal rights for trans people being allowed the parental name that matches their registered gender while not knowing your countries issues.. I don't get.
@JenKteach @UglaStefania Also it wasn't the UN saying anything. It happened at the UN, Iran and Philippines said Iceland should take immediate action and strengthen public awareness. Which was done.
@JenKteach @UglaStefania So UKs 90% abortion rate of pregnancies screened as Downs syndrome, with annual births of around 700.000 is drastically better?
How many abortions is that on this basis vs Icelands...
@JenKteach @UglaStefania I see you missed the birth rate here. While yes there was an issue of over use of screenings here, we are talking about less than a handful of terminations per year, all on the basis of parental choice.
@JenKteach @UglaStefania This is false. On average their are 2 to 3 babies born each year with Downs syndrome in Iceland. We have a birth rate of around 4500 a year total. Small countries.. Low numbers in general.

📢Today we went to the Consideration of Bills Committee at the Parliament of Malta to make our voices heard! We stand by last week's statement - Bill 28 has become a regressive & dangerous amendment that will lead to more harm. (1/4)
@CAIS_Files@Iamthisnotthat1@PridePowerList@stonewalluk @Nancy_M_K @TheCAHkid1 An Icelandic perspective. The fact that there is still residual criminalisation in the UK on abortion has always struck me as quite archaic.
Now I really need to get my ass in gear!
1 year olds can't eat pickles and stinky cheeses 😅
2.
@CAIS_Files@Iamthisnotthat1@PridePowerList@stonewalluk @Nancy_M_K @TheCAHkid1 There were several parts I feel I'd need to read again to form coherent points in English about them.
"If residual criminalisation in the UK really were a slippery slope towards gestational servitude, surely we’d have slipped down it already."
This rang very strange to me from 1.
@KatieInBoston1@CAIS_Files@PridePowerList@stonewalluk @Nancy_M_K I stand completely corrected, when I skimmed the names the Griffins name rang bells as someone I saw a while back on social media openly discussing mrkh.
Now looking at the photo this is Def not the same person at all.
Just a Similair sounding name.
@Iamthisnotthat1 @LawfulEvil5 @CAIS_Files@PridePowerList@stonewalluk @Nancy_M_K @TheCAHkid1 I definitely will! Tonight when I have a sleeping baby Next to me.
Right now I'm trying to convince myself to get up and food shop so I can feed my niece when she comes.
Could one of you stick a leg through the Internet and give me kick in the ass to move? 💜
