Good news for PID patients – a vaccinated community in the coming year means antibodies to COVID-19 in the donors of plasma that will protect our vulnerable patients
More than just an emergency service, we aim to give people the knowledge they need to stay safe around water. On #NationalTeachersDay, we want to highlight the efforts of our Youth Education volunteers, who have taught thousands of children how to #RespectTheWater.
It is International Plasma Awareness Week! Help to raise awareness of the need for more plasma donors and the importance of plasma for immunoglobulin therapy, changing the lives of people with PID and SID.
#IPAW2020
Please share! The NHS needs people who’ve had coronavirus (COVID-19) to donate blood plasma to potentially help others.

With big spring tides and strong winds during #StormEllen, our coastline will be dangerous and unpredictable this weekend. Do you know the tidal dangers? Read more here: https://t.co/pQbl7v6nlK
WARNING: Forecasts predict large swell, strong winds and spring tides in Wales.
If you’re heading to the coast:
🏖️Choose a lifeguarded beach (10am-6pm)
🌊Check tide times
📞In an emergency, call 999 for the Coastguard
#StormEllen is on its way from the west and will bring strong winds and potential coastal flooding, in combination with spring tides. Don't take unnecessary risks - breaking waves can easily sweep you off your feet and out to sea.
Air temperatures could reach record highs this weekend, but sea temperatures are still as low as 13 degrees C around some parts of our coast - cold enough to cause cold water shock. If you get into trouble in the water during the #heatwave, stay calm and #FloatToLive.
