The reason S5 of The Boys seems lackluster is because the show has strayed so far from its original premise. What started as a fun satire of the superhero genre has turned into a thinly veiled political commentary. Along the way it lost its wit, charm and uniqueness. Which is sad

Unfortunately the new Faces of Death is an example of how a poorly written protagonist can really hurt a film.

Dacre Montgomery’s character and performance make it worth a watch though.
