@Rainmaker1973 Sometimes I think , if you look further into those early records, it would be easy to imagine the aboriginal person is just repeating the sound they heard. Eg in Tasmania ‘moon’ is recorded as ‘lune’( Fr explorers)
@StMaryMacKiller Apron, tea towels, cloth for scrubbing/ wiping benches, handkerchiefs. Although white ( with some yellowing ) linen washes and dries well , doesn’t get stinky when wet , organic. Lasts forever.
@Envira_mental When I’ve been welcomed to country in remote ( and not so remote ) language groups in Australia it was an invitation, not necessarily to the land, to embrace the unique , broad ways of being ‘ with’ country. Then I was enriched.
@jonkudelka In my wheelchair this afternoon with a nearly one year old on my lap. Despite turning the wheelchair off , it kept moving. She had worked out which button to press and how to use the manoeuvring device whilst I wasn’t looking.
She rocks !!!
@Brad59414697 Found a penny in a bottom drawer. Gave it to boy who visits me ( I’m elderly ) telling him it bought 4 lollies “ in my day “. He and his dad worked out it is worth $50. Good on them I say !
