@CmdrACB@fraichoo @SupremeTDM_ @GalPhotoED sorry crow, i was trying to pull fraish's leg with that comment, not yours!! note to self: never accidentally call into question the musical knowledge of a crack unit of heavily armed space cmdrs' esteemed leader...aplogies boss!
@fraichoo@CmdrACB @SupremeTDM_ @GalPhotoED well well! true enough, but didn't realise that your musical knowledge extended that far beyond delta pavonis...?!
@CmdrACB @SupremeTDM_ @GalPhotoED certainly not! although the genre is an acquired taste: new listeners don't grasp that the satisfaction only dwells near the moment that you finally snap and turn it off...
@CmdrACB @SupremeTDM_ @GalPhotoED ha, if you can call it a culture: not exactly delicate artist types in chamunda. i once tried to ask some locals in gidzenko ring "why do you call yourselves chamundians: surely you are chamundANs?". the most coherent response i got from the table was some form of combative grunt

no. heading to kini to check out the beacon. and the fleet. and the silverware. where are you? i don't yell my fleet of admirers but this looks like a definite backup-needed type situation...
well, apart from the full-on imperial livery that is...but yeah, just replaced the thrusters and voila: a good little viper for IPX. they mentioned the wrecked python for sale too, but didn't have an eye on it at first. made more sense for us when i gave it some thought though...
@JpStryder yo @CmdrACB! glad to be in! erm, don't suppose you guys happen to have a spare trillion sloshing around somewhere in a folder marked "lets help equip our dashing new pilots with shiny shiny deathmobiles" perchance...? *cough*
@JpStryder magnificent! but keep those wing beacons blazing a little longer - have tested her new weapon loadout (handling nicely) but can now barely afford to fuel her...need cash to make sure she isn't corroded down to a novelty paperweight on the maiden voyage by the umbrella gang...erk
luckily i'm not superstitious (or squeamish) because the previous owners (we assume that these were pilot's federation cmdrs allied with the empire) obviously didn't have much luck with these ships. or they weren't great shots with a railgun at least...ours now though...
so here we are. came back with fraish and met the carter base navy liaison (or whoever they were) about the python. this one was totally trashed but matches the viper and has the same railgun mods. must have been part of a wing, feds obviously won and salvaged these two.
they offered me a battle-damaged viper with incapacitated thrusters, i was intrigued because it had an integral railgun mount which was a new one on me. hard wired straight to the distibutor's wep branch. took them up on it: what's not to like?
what was that, a couple of weeks ago now? had got talking to the shipyard mechanics at spring gateway in LHS 215. was looking for ship so i could fall in with ipx's squad of anti-thargoid vipers. station is controlled by federal privateers with ties to carter base (fed military)
getting somewhere now, going to attempt to lift the python in the next couple of hours. turned out to be quite a detour but hey, i'm easily misled by this stuff. glad that viper piqued my interest.
no life support or anything else. totally wrecked internals. luckily it was a fairly light combat configuration so there is empty space to rig everything up and (maybe) still store the dead modules....they want rid of everything as part of the deal.
