Mashujaa Day well spent!
Together with our partners, we visited Love For All Children Rescue Centre in Barut, Nakuru. The day was full of joy — from mentorship sessions, dance battles, and play therapy to outdoor and indoor games and a heartwarming gifting session.
At @Midrifthurinet, we believe suicide is not a taboo but rather a Public Health and community issue that we can prevent when we stand together.
Every day, our work brings people closer to hope.
We train first responders and people in Psychological First Aid (PFA), helping them recognize warning signs and offer immediate, compassionate support.
We create safe spaces, through sports, art, or community conversations, where people can talk, heal, and build resilience.
We also nurture peer educators who pass on coping skills and encourage help-seeking, ensuring that knowledge spreads across communities.
Our efforts don’t stop there.
We are strengthening referral systems so that schools, health facilities, and community networks are better connected, leaving no one to struggle alone.
At the same time, we continue to advocate for policies that integrate mental health and suicide prevention into county and national agendas, because lasting change must also be systemic.
Our message is simple: Suicide is preventable.
With empathy, safe spaces, and collective care, we can replace silence and stigma with support and hope.

In a refreshing departure from conventional dialogue platforms, the team-building session facilitated by @Midrifthurinet and supported by GIZ,German International Cooperation brought together Youth Champions and security actors in a dynamic, experiential space where play became a conduit for peacebuilding.
Through interactive games like football, volleyball, relay athletics, arrow, rabbit, over-and-under games, and communication challenges, the event transcended entertainment, strategically embedding life skills essential for peace and security.
These seemingly simple activities unfolded layers of interpersonal learning, teaching trust, non-verbal communication, leadership, problem-solving, and the power of coordinated action.
For youth and law enforcement officers alike, these shared experiences dismantled social and institutional walls, creating a rare atmosphere of mutual respect, vulnerability, and human connection.
