The Black Clover staff can cook great things when given the time, but the aesthetic part could sometimes be a bit dubious, so it's awesome to see such a glowup.
If I had one gripe to mention, it would be the art direction that doesn't always look great in interiors, mainly

Obligatory mention to Shunji Akasaka (unless it's Takaya Sunagawa again lol) who gave us amazing corrections of Noelle. As always, it has a great volume and follows Tabata's style closely.

The animation seems to be quite Kanada or even TNK pilled(?), which gives a few hints...

Before moving on to the animation side of things, I'd just like to give this area a quick mention. It has some very nice aesthetic choices, and it does looks frightening!

The first thing I want to point out is, of course, the new Director of Photography: Keisuke Nozawa.

He's one of the key DoPs of Graphinica (specifically, their Sapporo Studio) and is renowned for his work on Vivy, or recently, Sekiro, Agents of the Four Seasons and Prism Rondo.

Here's my obligatory thread about the Black Clover PV, my impressions of it, and the staff.

Obviously, a really great surprise overall. Season 2 seems to look better than Black Clover ever has before. The AD work is excellent, and the aesthetic levelup is very welcome.

I hope HE comes back and does something in this season, even if is just a cut, but for his hardwork and carrying the whole series for years, deserves to be here when things look better for the production.

The drawings are pretty strong. Having good feelings and expectations for a whole cour of episodes of Black Clover doesn't feel real but here we are, the staff surpassed his limits and October is the time for us to enjoy!🍀

I think when Season 2 drops i would like to talk about like before, but can’t swear i would do it because it’s true that out of the activity of social media and just being an anonymous account following past mutuals and just reading and not interacting is more comfortable.

One Piece is the most important manga in my life but Black Clover gave me this. This account, the people i met and a new passion that was animation.
It started when i was studying and now im working and im not around here anymore, but it was a part of my life and wont forget it.

Black Clover means a lot. Its not perfect, it has its flaws, but the journey I had with it is what makes it so special for me
Just hope Tabata can rest now and i’ll be there for the next work he pulls out.
