SB19 has reached another milestone. This time not on the charts, but in the classroom.
The group was recently featured in “Exploring Asian Music, Arts, and Embracing Wellness,” a MAPEH textbook for Grade 8 learners that discusses the evolution of music and culture across Asia.
In a section tackling the rise of Philippine pop music, SB19 was cited as an example of P-pop superstars and recognized for helping lay the foundation of the genre’s growth in the country. The book highlighted the group’s role in bringing greater visibility to P-pop and contributing to the movement that continues to shape the local music industry today.
The inclusion quickly caught the attention of fans online, with many viewing it as a sign of the group’s lasting cultural impact. “When a group ends up in school books, that’s not hype—that’s history,” one fan wrote. “SB19 made it. Filipino talent being studied in classrooms? That’s a different level of influence.”
The sentiment resonated with many supporters who pointed out that being featured in educational materials goes beyond popularity or chart success.
“That alone says a lot. Hindi lang sila trending, hindi lang sila sikat, kundi influential enough to be studied. This is what happens when talent meets consistency and hard work,” another fan shared.
For a group that has spent years championing Filipino music on both local and international stages, being included in a school textbook marks a different kind of achievement, one that places their contribution to P-Pop not just in playlists, but in Philippine cultural history.

OPM is no longer just being discovered.
OPM is entering the global conversation.
And what makes it even more powerful is this…
SB19 didn’t change who they are just to “fit in” globally. They brought their identity with them.
From Filipino stages to international doors. 🫶
SB19 is now under UTA Music! It is one of the three biggest talent agencies in the world!!! About time SB19 is represented by an agency this big! 😭
