The thing I’m wrestling with lately is that this seems to be the life cycle of a Black woman raising any concern:
1. Disbelief no matter what evidence I show.
2. Dismissal of the concern and generic platitudes.
3. Being left isolated.
4. When people realize you were correct they expect you to teach them all about it. But for free though because your experience should be riches enough.
It’s a lot to take in and I’m wearing out. But even though I’m saying that right on this post ya’ll will jump right into this cycle. So let me prepare for platitudes.
One time someone called me “super private” and, anyone who knows me, knows that ain’t true. I just revoke access when I realize someone ain’t listening.
