It works o! Fold your sleeves and enter the streets! We did this in the bank in 2012, we took out the competition in the retail space before they knew what hit them.
That huge funds you’ve budgeted for digital ads next month. Take 50% of it. Hire 10 smart talkers in highly concentrated areas. People that are popular and know their city roads like the back of their hands.
Put them on salary and performance based commissions.
If they don’t outperform your paid ads projected results by August, come and tell me “Yewande you are a liar!” I will delete my Twitter account for you and leave crypto.

Everyone Knows Dave...
Dave was bragging to his boss one day, "You know, I know everyone there is to know. Just name someone, anyone, and I know them."
Tired of his boasting, his boss called his bluff, "OK, Dave, how about Tom Cruise?"
"No dramas, boss, Tom and I are old friends, and I can prove it."
So Dave and his boss fly out to Hollywood and knock on Tom Cruise's door, and Tom Cruise shouts,
"Dave! What's happening? Great to see you! Come on in for a beer!"
Although impressed, Dave's boss is still sceptical. After they leave Cruise's house, he tells Dave that he thinks that Dave knowing Cruise was just lucky.
"No, no, just name anyone else," Dave says.
"President Obama," his boss quickly retorts.
"Yup," Dave says, "Old buddies, let's fly out to Washington," and off they go.
At the White House, Obama spots Dave on the tour and motions him and his boss over, saying, "Dave, what a surprise, I was just on my way to a meeting, but you and your friend come on in and let's have a beer first and catch up."
Well, the boss is very shaken by now, but still not totally convinced.
After they leave the White House grounds, he expresses his doubts to Dave, who again implores him to name anyone else.
"Pope Francis," his boss replies.
"Sure!" says Dave. "I've known the Pope for years." So off they fly to Rome.
Dave and his boss are assembled with the masses at the Vatican's St. Peter's Square when Dave says, "This will never work. I can't catch the Pope's eye among all these people. Tell you what, I know all the guards, so let me just go upstairs and I'll come out on the balcony with the Pope."
He disappears into the crowd, headed towards the Vatican.
Sure enough, half an hour later Dave emerges with the Pope on the balcony, but by the time Dave returns, he finds that his boss has had a heart attack and is surrounded by paramedics.
Making his way to his boss's side, Dave asks him, "What happened?"
His boss looks up and says, "It was the final straw... You and the Pope came out onto the balcony, and the man next to me said, 'Who the fuck is that on the balcony with Dave?'

There are some people who will succeed in anything they do. They just have it in them. I know a guy who studied medicine, finished and went into management consulting for 10 years and went back to Medicine. Top guy.
My guy got a second class upper in Engineering in UNIBEN (a difficult feat in our time) and he decided not to do anything with it and open a shop selling greeting cards as that was his passion.
He later became a bank treasurer and now runs a fertilizer company. He got the degree but his priorities changed. I think that we don’t understand creative and high agency people enough in our part of the world.
Anyone who can make a first class in physics from UNIBEN is a high agency person. While I believe that we must always find ways to lift each other up, we should also be respectful of the choices people make.
A friend had a first class in accounting but decided that she didn’t want to work in banking anymore and devote time to her kids. Her logic was that it was the same thing her mother did for them that enabled her to succeed. She is also another high agency person who will likely start something once the kids are grown.
Many still don’t understand why I never went into banking till today when I had all the family advantages there. I just loved tech more. I had a first degree in biological sciences and decided not to go to medical school when I also had that opportunity. I got an MBA and did an MSc but decided to use the knowledge for my own business.
I think we should support that fashion business with everything we can and see how it will thrive. If he decides to run for office or run a Buka tomorrow, we will support him because “GREAT UNIBEN!!”
Wisdom is profitable to direct. Meaning, it's not enough to just get wisdom, you have to apply it. Somewhere in my mind, I'm linking that to choosing your battles wisely.
I'm not sure exactly why, but I just had the nudge to drop this here.
@cenbank
Is it proper for @gtbank_help to direct me to approach a POS merchant for funds reconciliation for a failed POS transaction that the merchant supposedly got value for?
I have a declined receipt and @gtbank is asking me to do their job for them.
Is that proper?
When something affects you directly and you think that you need a product, it doesn't necessarily mean that a significant market exists. The cost of providing you a solution may just be too high and margins are small. It is why you continue to suffer. Innovation solves this.
After NYSC, I had this limbo period in Lagos when I was deciding what to do with my life and where to stay. I was homeless in Lagos after a disagreement with my mum’s brother I was living with and ended up in the streets. My guy Gogo Somba (great guy) took me in to live at Opebi.
