Many of them put body on line in an age when physiotherapy was still little know & sports medicine was very rudimentary. Now as senior citizens, they are running up massive medical & wellbeing bills & we believe it is possible & necessary to support them through this initiative.

The goal of the Rangers Veterans initiative is to mobilise support for the remaining members of the #RangersOriginals & also to properly document & preserve their legacies, especially while there are still some of them left with us.

The latest casualties from that side are Stanley Okoronkwo & Harrison Mecha, both of whom are yet to be buried.

These 3 are among 13 surviving members of the original @rangersint from 1970. It was that team that inspired the reconstruction of Igbo identity in the aftermath of the #NigerianCivilWar. The remainder of the side are now dead.
