2 men trying to outdo each other with cruelty to some of most vulnerable people - totally dehumanising debate about refugees & asylum seekers. Note to them both: people seeking asylum are not “illegal migrants” - what we need to stop the boats are safe & legal routes #BBCDebate
👏🏾Israel lost #Eurovision2024. Unconscionable that a genocide child-killing terrorist state is prancing on stage to "I don't care" as it's literally committing genocide in #Gaza. Not a subtle message. Look at the Palestinian kids Israhell is exterminating you soulless ghouls who voted for it #GazaHolocaust #EdenGolan
Congrats to Waheeda Sattar. Having been my local shopkeeper for 24 years, she has huge personal support in the area. Not sure it can be translated into huge support for Labour though. #Grangetown#byelection

@mhdksafa Yes, of course. Now. 4 months of indiscriminate bombing and shooting by Israel, 31,000 dead, 70,000 injured, blockades of water and food, people literally starving, hospitals inoperative...
🇵🇸🏴HAPPENING NOW!
On the weekend of the Christmas eve, protesters are marching in Cardiff to draw attention to the lives being lost every day in Palestine, as Israel continues its military actions in Gaza.

Will a Gething-led government or a Miles-led government ape the policies of Starmer in Westminster, or will they be distinctively and differently Welsh? ✍️@ShiptonMartin👉https://t.co/9N7fK20tvs https://t.co/z6zncpcc2D
Gent in a suit, "8,000 children. 8,000 children dead. 1.5 million people displaced in one of the most densely congested regions of the world. This is not proportionate whatsoever.. There has to be a plan for the day after" #BBCQT
"I’m personally a Holocaust survivor as an infant, I barely survived. My grandparents were killed in Aushwitz and most of my extended family were killed. I became a Zionist; this dream of the Jewish people resurrected in their historical homeland and the barbed wire of Aushwitz being replaced by the boundaries of a Jewish state with a powerful army…and then I found out that it wasn’t exactly like that, that in order to make this Jewish dream a reality we had to visit a nightmare on the local population.
There’s no way you could have ever created a Jewish state without oppressing and expelling the local population. Jewish Israeli historians have shown without a doubt that the expulsion of Palestinians was persistent, pervasive, cruel, murderous and with deliberate intent - that’s what’s called the 'Nakba' in Arabic; the 'disaster' or the 'catastrophe'. There’s a law that you cannot deny the Holocaust, but in Israel you’re not allowed to mention the Nakba, even though it’s at the very basis of the foundation of Israel.
I visited the Occupied Territories (West Bank) during the first intifada. I cried every day for two weeks at what I saw; the brutality of the occupation, the petty harassment, the murderousness of it, the cutting down of Palestinian olive groves, the denial of water rights, the humiliations...and this went on, and now it’s much worse than it was then.
It’s the longest ethnic cleansing operation in the 20th and 21st century. I could land in Tel Aviv tomorrow and demand citizenship but my Palestinian friend in Vancouver, who was born in Jerusalem, can’t even visit!
So then you have these miserable people packed into this, horrible…people call it an 'outdoor prison', which is what it is. You don’t have to support Hamas policies to stand up for Palestinian rights, that’s a complete falsity. You think the worse thing you can say about Hamas, multiply it by a thousand times, and it still will not meet the Israeli repression and killing and dispossession of Palestinians.
And 'anybody who criticises Israel is an anti-Semite' is simply an egregious attempt to intimidate good non-Jews who are willing to stand up for what is true."
"The humanitarian situation in #Gaza was extremely dire before these hostilities. Now it will only deteriorate exponentially" says the UN Secretary General today #gazaunderattack
It’s time to end the vicious circle of bloodshed, hatred & polarization in the Middle East.
Israel must see its legitimate needs for security materialized, and Palestinians must see a clear perspective for the establishment of their own state realized.
Haha, #AndreaLeadsom, arguing on BBC #PoliticsLive against #20mph speed limits, is actually campaigning for the A5 in Towcester to be reduced to 20mph! Well spotted Jo Coburn 😄 #toryhypocrits
Protests are being held across UK towns and cities this weekend against what they call a “climate of fear” on the roads, and an “epidemic” of careless and dangerous driving, that is curbing children’s freedoms and putting lives at risk. https://t.co/Q0FFgwexx3
