I will never understand why “fans” try so hard to outsmart the information given to us by those who get paid to have opinions.
Toledo was 36th in the AP Poll. They were a VERY trendy Week 1 upset pick. The spread floated between 7.5 and 10.
Objectively, Kentucky’s passing game was disappointing. However, in the aggregate, didn’t everything go essentially as expected (or maybe even better in the eyes of many nationally)?
The same people who wanted you to know how BAD they thought Kentucky would be this season somehow still are even MORE pessimistic after Week 1. I just don’t get it.
Do I think Kentucky is a Top 25 team? Of course not. However, I just watched them mostly control the game against a team people think is pretty good. I think the defense and running game will have us in a LOT of competitive games…and then anything can happen.
The beauty of College Football is the week-to-week build up and the unknown of every Saturday. We, as Kentucky fans, get a week of being 1-0 before hosting Top 20 Ole Miss (a team we beat at their place last year when they were ranked even higher). Let’s just enjoy it.
Go ‘Cats!!!
