Trump is an authoritarian.
He wants to intimidate his political opponents, the media and all those who disagree with him.
Ilhan Omar came to America legally as a child refugee fleeing civil war, became a citizen and was elected to Congress.
Trump is weaponizing the federal government to silence opposition. Fight back. Defend democracy.
I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation.
I will not be silenced.
BREAKING: DAMN RIGHT! Abdul El-Sayed gives the PERFECT response when asked if Melania Trump and Usha Vance should be "off limits" from criticism.
This is exactly how so many of us feel...
"The Vice President himself called you out today for what you said about his wife, Usha Vance, someone that you've now invoked a couple of times," CNN's Kaitlan Collins said to El-Sayed. "Do you believe that spouses, political spouses, people who aren't running for office should be off limits?"
"Look, I'd rather not talk about spouses at all," replied the Democratic Senate candidate. "The truth of the matter is that Donald Trump, almost as soon as I was nominated, tweeted a picture of me and my wife relative to him and his wife, trying to highlight the fact that my wife wears a hijab, as if to make an argument that that's somehow less American."
"And they have this interesting dynamic. Donald Trump says one thing, i.e. data centers or tweets a picture of my wife, and then J.D. Vance pretends like it would be impossible for anybody ever to do something like that," said El-Sayed. "So I'd like them to actually face down their own hypocrisy."
And then he really brought the hammer down on J.D.'s cowardice...
"The point that I've been making about his wife is that he believes in a political philosophy that says that some people are somehow more American than others," said El-Sayed. "He, in a speech about a week ago, said that he wanted to have a conversation about me with his grandpa, a person that I understand has long since passed, may he rest in peace."
"But why would you invoke your long-since-passed grandfather to make an argument about me if you're not trying to take us back to a time when people like me were less than normal?" he asked.
"But then it raises the question about who else might not be normal in that kind of an America? Who else might not be included in the broad spectrum of who can be an American?"
"I believe in an America where any of us, me, his wife, any of us with different color skin or who pray different ways, can be just as American as J.D. and his papa," he went on. "But he's not making that argument. He likes to dog-whistle about these things, but when you actually call him out on it, he acts like he would never bring anything like that into our political conversation, despite he and his boss doing that every single day."
We couldn't have said it better ourselves. Despite Vance having an Indian American wife and biracial children, he's a loyal foot soldier for MAGA, a movement that is white nationalist and Christian theocratic at its heart.
And El-Sayed is also right that Vance is constantly downplaying what Trump says and does. He doesn't have the spine to condemn his boss's many horrific remarks and so he weasel words and reinterprets them.
As for Usha and Melania, their failure to denounce their husbands' fascist agenda is tacit endorsement. They are complicit and they are more than fair game for criticism.
Please ❤️ and share if you think that El-Sayed nailed it!

ICE shoot Virginia man with Taser—repeatedly punch his face while unconscious.
He woke up in hospital with internal bleeding & brain hemorrhage.
But agents refuse to let him get life saving MRI.
Doctors can't treat him—because agents won't remove ankle monitor.
Can't scan his internal body damage because ankle monitor interferes with hospital scanners.
His additional injuries include—black eyes, significant bruising, cuts & 7 stitches on his lip.
Whatever force agents used was so significant that his brain has blocked all memories of the trauma.
Don José Mejía has lived in the U.S. for the past 18 years with no criminal record.
Incident occurred in Arlington, Virginia.
Alba Gonzalez doesn't have an account on this platform—so posting first full length and credited video here to help raise awareness.
Close up views of the man's injuries have been blurred so this video is safe for viewing by all audiences.
A quick reminder that Kyle Rittenhouse showed up to a protest like this, shot and killed others and was celebrated by MAGA. Meanwhile Alex Pretti showed up to a protest like this, was shot and killed, then condemed by MAGA. Please stop saying this isn’t political.
🚨In Key West, an ICE/Border Patrol agent threatened to PULL A U.S. CITIZEN OUT OF THE CAR because he cursed at an agent… then had the audacity to tell the U.S. citizen to “learn your laws.”
So, let’s learn them.
In the video, Border Patrol agents pulled over a car of U.S. citizens and demanded everyone hand over their IDs.
When the passenger says, “Bitch, fuck you,” an agent asks what he said and then threatens to pull him out of the vehicle if he “says one more thing like that.”
The passenger correctly asks: “For what? That’s freedom of speech.”
The agent responds: “That’s not how that works. Learn your laws.”
Oh, we’re going to…
Cursing at a government agent is not, by itself, a crime. The First Amendment protects a significant amount of verbal criticism, insults, and profanity directed at law enforcement, as long as it is not a physical threat. The government cannot punish people simply for verbally challenging or criticizing law enforcement.
And it gets even worse.
After the passenger calls the agent a “fucking white cracker,” the agent asks what he called him… and then tells another agent he is “thinking of calling in and arresting this guy.”
For what?
Because he hurt your feelings?
The government does not get to arrest someone for speech they don’t like.
And yes, Border Patrol has special authority near the border. That includes operating immigration checkpoints where agents can briefly stop vehicles, without individualized reasonable suspicion, for immigration questioning.
But, that is different from a roving patrol stop.
When not operating at a checkpoint, Border Patrol needs reasonable suspicion to pull over a vehicle for immigration questioning.
And even at a checkpoint, the agents’ authority is not unlimited. A checkpoint stop does not automatically give them the right to search the vehicle, indefinitely detain people, or arrest someone because they said something an agent didn’t like.
The Constitution does not say…
“You have freedom of speech, unless a federal agent gets offended.”
It says the government cannot punish you for exercising that right.
And perhaps the most important part of this entire video is…
The passenger knew his rights better than the federal agent threatening him.
The agent told the U.S. citizen to learn his laws…
But maybe the agent should have learned them first.
A fully masked ICE agent pepper sprayed a woman in New York yesterday merely for videotaping
He approached her. She was standing still. That guy needs jail time.
If this goes viral, the city will seek charges.
