Good on Starbucks for rescinding their vax mandate for employees 👏🏼No one should be forced to give up bodily autonomy, especially after being hailed as "essential" throughout the pandemic. Before anyone comes after me, one can be unvaccinated and still take Covid seriously.
@BookGoddess2 @Reuters Infected people have been forced to work at various establishments ranging from restaurants to grocery stores in order to put food in the table and feed their families. At least Starbucks offered employees paid leave for Covid. Once again, they have made a sound decision.
@graydaygamer@LJCenter I see what you are saying, but to mandate either two years into a pandemic where they have been working as *essential employees* is bizarre. Also, while small businesses are the way to go, many work at SB because the company offers benefits, including tuition reimbursement.
@graydaygamer@LJCenter Starbucks baristas are already grossly underpaid. To force these employees to pay for their own tests is just adding further insult to injury.
@SketchesbyBoze I've been done with coursework for almost two months, and I've had the time to read about 10 books for pure enjoyment. I am living my best life (and already missing academia nonetheless).
@lorenkessell You're telling me. The cops were almost called on Sat bc a guy was freaking out on me. Honestly, this pandemic has instilled a "take no shit" mentality in me, so I remain unfazed.
@BrittanyTubens Every second of my morning has been allocated to a specific task. My main goal is to feed the cat and brew coffee so I'm caffeinated enough to go to work and brew coffee for other uncaffeinated folk. Ain't no time for scrolling.
