if i were asked to define the bond between sunghoon and ni-ki, i would choose to remember the time ni-ki had to hide behind a pillar upon arriving at the airport for a schedule, covering his face and avoiding the group photo and sunghoon decided not to step forward for the photo, choosing instead to stay by ni-ki's side):
given the context of the situation, the fact that sunghoon did that really moved me...
NI-KI has every right to speak up when his privacy is violated, and he should never have to apologize for setting boundaries.
He was attending another artist’s concert, not his own. He was there to enjoy the performance, and someone secretly filmed him, potentially exposing the friend he was with. He expressed his frustration and asked people to approach him politely instead. How is asking for basic respect such a terrible thing?
What is even more frustrating is seeing people turn this into an excuse to attack him. Some are upset because he didn’t express himself the way they wanted him to, while others are using his nationality against him, telling him to go back to his country. For what? Speaking up about his own privacy? Since when did being an idol mean giving up the right to feel uncomfortable, say no, or call out behavior that crosses the line?
Buying albums, concert tickets, and merchandise, attending every event, or subscribing to his DMs does not give anyone ownership over him. Your support does not entitle you to his personal life, constant attention, or access to him whenever you want. You chose to support his career, but that doesn’t mean you get to dictate how he lives or how he responds when his boundaries are crossed.
You can disagree with how someone expresses themselves without turning it into a reason to hate on them. And there is absolutely no excuse for racist remarks. NK deserves respect regardless of his nationality, just as he deserves privacy regardless of his status as an idol.
What is concerning is how comfortable some people have become disrespecting NK. The moment he speaks up for himself, some people act as though he has personally betrayed them. He is a human being, not someone who exists to satisfy every expectation his fans have of him.
You are a fan, not his owner. Your money doesn’t buy you control over his life, and your support doesn’t give you the right to disrespect him. If you only respect NK when he says and does what you want, then you don't respect him at all. You only respect the version of him you think you're entitled to.
He doesn’t owe anyone unlimited access to himself. He deserves to enjoy his personal time without being secretly filmed, to set boundaries without being attacked, and to speak up without having his nationality used against him.
Supporting an artist should never mean expecting them to surrender their privacy just to keep you happy. Respect NK as a person, not just as an idol you expect to meet your standards.
i’m so proud of heeseung. he performed 4 of his OWN songs + a cover at the 2026 NBA macau event 🏀 5 total songs!

we all know nk care sm for his fans, and he wouldn’t hurt them, but seeing even the so-called “fans” turn on him & twisting his intentions? is so sad to see
I was genuinely so confused as to why many were so angry, I read many different views, and no I’m sorry but many are being so unfair to him, “why did he use the DM to send such messages? we aren’t subscribing to hear that rant ” I don’t know maybe because he feels more comfortable with his nikpeus ? he felt comfortable enough to open up and vent about the issue? also for a reason all I’m seeing is “we have been patient for so long” etc. what about him ? he deals w such invasion since day1 including from ppl who claim to be “his fans”, yet the moment he actually speaks up, sets a boundary, and asks to be respected, suddenly it’s a problem?
he sent 42 replies last night, yet ppl r ignoring all the other messages where he was being so warm with his fans, chatting with them, asking about their day, telling them about his day, wishing them well, and celebrating engene’s day. and only focused on the five replies where his tone was understandably firm because he was addressing what had happened to him, I don’t get it why should he have to sound cheerful or sugarcoat his words when talking about something that made him uncomfortable? he was straight forward with his request to ask for privacy and he has all the right to do so, if you weren’t the one secretly filming him or ever invaded his privacy before, then his words weren’t directed at you in the first place. so why take it personally? why twist his words to make them fit you and then get angry over something that wasn’t even aimed at you? and the whole argument that this is just a “cultural thing” he should learn to “endure” is so?? since when does being an idol mean having to tolerate every invasion of your privacy or disrespect without being allowed to speak up ????
these idols are human beings too. they have feelings, and boundaries… I just wish ppl would be more kind and understanding to nk, he doesn’t deserve any of this.
If you…
•don’t like tattoos
•require dms every day
•hate respecting privacy and boundaries
•thinks you own an idol cause you spent a few dollars
•require constant attention
I suggest you pick a different idol than Nishimura Riki. He’s not the type to be your lap dog. He’s not your make belief boyfriend either.
He’s a free spirit that comes and goes as he pleases, and there are fans that like him exactly as he is. You don’t need to change him to fit your mold of what’s acceptable to be an idol. He’s not going to change for you despite all your nagging, so just go stan someone else and stop nitpicking at every single thing he does.
contrary to what many kpop stans believe, idols don’t live for you. they live for themselves, and every fan should live for themselves too. just because the majority of the kpop industry is built on parasocial blurred lines between idols and fans doesn’t mean that every idol wishes to live that way.
if you don’t like his ways, then don’t stan. It’s really that simple.
Your Philippine ENGENEs made this for you, ENHYPEN, hoping you would see it that night at the Mall of Asia Arena on October 3. We had so much planned for you, so many things we wanted to give you, but all of our fan projects were rejected and never got the chance to reach you that night.
And honestly, that still hurts. We put so much time, effort, and love into those things, not because we needed to see them happen, but because we wanted our love to reach you in the way we had imagined it would. We wanted you to see what we had made with our own hands and hearts, and, for one night, let you feel just how deeply you are loved and how much your presence has meant to your Philippine ENGENEs.
They could reject every project we made for you. They could take away the moment we had imagined. But they could never take away the love that made us create them in the first place.
So today, on ENGENE DAY, the day you gave us a name without knowing how much of our lives would grow into it, we’re finally giving you this, from the people who have been so lucky to call themselves your PHILIPPINE ENGENEs.
It may not have reached you that night. But it was made for you then, and it is still made for you now. 🤍
